Suiyin Tian (Tina)-Laoshi

Born in Guangzhou, China, with degrees from the Guangdong Radio and Television University and Guangzhou Finance College, Suiyan began her teaching career in Portland’s first Chinese immersion program, The International School, 1996-2006. She co-founded the school’s internationally recognized dance troupe, Little Dove of Peace, and directed students’ performances in the U.S. and China. Suiyan co-founded and taught at the Northwest Chinese Academy in Beaverton, and then became a founding teacher for the Chinese immersion program in the Lake Oswego School District. In her spare time Tian is an avid gardener. Tian is married to Wen and they have two grown children, Tammie and Ziling.
